More often than not, I hear that suicide is selfish...I personally couldn't disagree more!
Suicide is a decision made out of desperation, isolation and hopelessness. The black hole that is clinical depression or complete emotional turmoil becomes all-consuming. Feeling like a burden to loved ones, feeling like there is no way out and feeling completely trapped are all common thoughts among people who want their lives to end.
That's not to say that all individuals who take their own lives are clinically depressed but deep sadness, hopelessness and suicidal thoughts are prominent symptoms of depression.Read more
A rail firm was forced to apologise after passengers on a delayed train were told someone ‘couldn’t be bothered to live anymore’.

Monday's Channel 4 documentary "The stranger on the Bridge" following the poignant Finding Mike campaign was so stunningly put together that I had to write about it...
The programme followed the amazing Jonny Benjamin's #FindMike campaign which sought to find the passerby who talked him out of taking his life on Waterloo Bridge six years ago. Jonny was only 20 years old at the time and had been diagnosed with schizo-affective disorder which has features of schizophrenia and a mood disorder - either bipolar disorder or depression.Read more
